We are looking for an outstanding aviation safety professional to lead the implementation of our safety management processes and drive the transformation of our safety culture across our US locations. You will educate and influence senior leadership to ensure safety principles are at the core of our commercial operations. We’re looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems! As Prime Air's Aviation Safety Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the highest standards of safety across all commercial operations. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining aviation safety programs, policies, and procedures, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. You will conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and recommending preventive measures. Additionally, the Flight Safety Officer collaborates with various departments and personnel to promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement in safety practices.

Key job responsibilities • Ensure compliance with federal safety regulations and standards in conjunction with our commercial drone delivery program. • Work across the company to design, implement, and harmonize aviation safety programs. • Identify and assess safety hazards and risks. • Ensure the effective operation of the Safety Management System to ensure continued operational safety across multiple locations. • Investigate safety incidents and accidents, and recommend preventive measures. • Conduct and compile results from Safety Culture surveys across Prime Air • Compile and report Flight Safety metrics to Prime Air executive leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of aviation regulatory compliance experience
Experience in problem solving and data analytics
Experience communicating effectively with senior leadership
Proven experience in safety program development and implementation
Familiar with 14 CFR Part 5 and Part 135
Proficient in common business applications and tools (e.g. MS Office, Project Management tools)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in risk management and internal audit including: performing risk assessments and audits, designing controls, managing enterprise control frameworks, and prioritizing risk
Knowledge of project management tools
Experience using business intelligence reporting tools such as OBIEE, Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, MicroStrategy, SSAS Cubes, etc.
Proven knowledge of aviation legislation and FAA annexes
Experience working with the FAA, Foreign DGAC and EASA, including verbal and written communications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
